Fairfield Grace will celebrate this age old Easter custom begun by the Greeks in the early centuries of Christianity at the 10:00 am Worship Service on April 23. It is a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection on the Sunday after Easter. For centuries the week following Easter Sunday, including “Bright Sunday” (the Sunday after Easter), was observed by the faithful as “days of joy and laughter” to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.

Holy Humor Sunday gives each of us an opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for our own smaller resurrections in this world and this life.
