A new book called “Seven Women and the Secret of their Greatness”, by Eric Metaxis, has been selected by the Serena group to study next.  We will meet Monday, March 14th at 7pm in Hood Parlor at the church.

All women are invited to participate in our monthly meetings.  All you need to do is read one designated chapter prior to our meeting.  Each chapter is a biographical sketch of a different woman.  We will begin with Susanna Wesley in Chapter Two.  She was the mother of the founder of Methodism, John Wesley.  We will have a special guest to discuss Chapter One, Joan of Arc, at a later date.

Unlike previous studies, there are no discussion questions in the book to prepare.  Our focus will be on the insights and inspiration we discover about each woman’s life.  Other chapters, including Corrie Ten Boom and Rosa Parks, give us a varied timeline in history.

The books can be ordered online from Amazon.com or christianbook.com for under $14.  The book is also available as an e-book.  If you need assistance with ordering, please contact Anne in the church office.

The Serena group provides fun and fellowship as we share our perspectives on the chapter.  If you would like to join the group or have questions, please contact Karen Price (when emailing include “Serena book group” in the subject line).
